Winchester Kiwanis Hosts School BUG Program

The Kiwanis Club of Winchester was part of Shearer Elementary Awards Program. The 3rd and 4th grade students were given opportunities to share their success, wear Halloween Costumes and have a great time overall. All students, faculty, a few parents, Kiwanians and Partners In Education Executive: Director Greg Yates participated in the event held in the gym.

Principal Mark Rose, Mrs Turley and all the teachers participated in the presentation of the school awards program portion of the event. Kiwanians Thom Schoolmaster, Kirby Roberts and Greg Yates called students to come forward for the BUG Program (Bringing Up Grades) to recognize the (BUGS) that improved at least one grade from their mid-term grades. (Super Bugs) for maintaining all A's in all subjects and (Reading Bugs) for improving in that very important subject.

Kiwanis Club of Richmond Lighted Snowmen Project

The Kiwanis Club of Richmond partnered with the Richmond Teen Center to assist students, in a craft session, to produce lighted mason jar snowmen. There were 24 teen-age students that participated in this project.

The leaders of this project were Georgia Parks, the director of the Richmond Teen Center, and four members of the Kiwanis Club of Richmond. The Kiwanians present were, Phillis Adams, Beth Thompson, and Joan and Glen Kleine. Mrs. Kleine is the president of the Kiwanis Club of Richmond.

Richmond Kiwanians distributed candy and goodwill to more than 600 children of Madison County as one of its Kiwanis One Day

Elbert Hudson was awarded his 60-Year Kiwanian Pin by Beth Thompson, Past President of the Kiwanis Club of Richmond

Myra Finney, 2017-18 Division 9 Lt. Governor Attends Lt. Governor Training

Myra Finney, (second from right in the above photo) was attending a two-day training session at Cumberland Falls to become the Division 9 Lt. Governor during 2017-18. She is seen here with fellow Lt. Governors-Elect who were taking a break from the training. Myra is a member of the Kiwanis Club of Irvine-Ravenna, KY.

Madison Central HS Key Club
Selected as Outstanding Club in Division 9

The Madison Central High School Key Club was selected as the most outstanding Key Club in Division 9 (Central Kentucky) of the Kentucky-Tennessee Key Club District of Kiwanis International. Kyla Kelley was the 2nd place winner and Addie Riel received an Honorable Mention in Kentucky-Tennessee Key Club District Impromptu Essay Contest. Susan Rahimzadeh, President of the MCHS Key Club, was recognized for her leadership as president of the most outstanding Key Club in Division 9
